What Does Hawaii Ocean Plaza Have to Offer?

This soon to be constructed high-rise, located on 1370 Kapiolani Blvd, will feature 40-stories of amazing Hawaiian living. The mixed-use residential-commercial project is currently in the pre-construction phase.

Soaring over 400-feet the project is being developed by Salem Partners of California. Salem Real Estate Partners is a full-service real estate development company that focuses on high quality developments in key infill locations.

When complete the building will feature condominiums, retail shops, restaurants, and more. There will be 122 one-bedroom units offering 886 – 963 square feet of living space, 71 two-bedrooms units with 1071 – 1322 square feet of living space, 6 three-bedroom condominiums each with 1776 square feet of space, and 301 studios that range from 610 – 705 square feet. The residential units will be built on floors 17-40.

Hawaii Ocean Plaza will also include a 175-room hotel that will be located on floors 9-16, some rooms will include kitchens. The building will also have 414 parking spaces for use by resident and hotel guests.

The project is currently scheduled to break ground in 2021, with anticipated completion in late 2023.

Why Live in Ala Moana?

Ala Moana has recently undergone extensive redevelopment that includes adding shopping, hotels, and housing. The community enhancements have focused on making the area more walkable and a destination for Hawaiian living.Much of the Ala Moana redevelopment has been sparked by the anticipation of the Honolulu Rail Transit. The transit will eventually finish in Ala Moana making it easily accessible for resident commuting.

One of the major landmarks in Ala Moana is the Ala Moana Shopping Center. If you can’t find something to buy at Ala Moana Shopping Center, you didn’t look.

Hawaii’s largest shopping center offers more than 300 retailers. At the open-aired facility you can browse high-end retailers including Ted Baker, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Chanel, Lululemon, and more. There is also a mix of local boutiques and shops. Ala Moana Shopping Center is host to a range of events, demonstrations, and activities. There is always something going of for visitors to enjoy.

The Ala Moana area also includes Target, Walmart, and Sam’s Club for convenient grocery shopping.

Dining

There are tons of dining options available in Ala Moana. The Ala Moana Shopping Center offers more than 160 places to choose from with everything from quick snacks to fine dining. Outside of the Shopping Center there are tons of dining options along Kapiolani Blvd.

Beaches and Parks

Ala Moana Beach Park is a protected bay area with calm waters. It covers 100 acres of land, which includes a stretch of beach area. The beach area is fairly large so you will have plenty of space to enjoy. Visitors can paddle boarding, swim, or just relax and take in the Hawaiian scenery. The area includes a 1.9-mile tree lined park path for running or walking.

Located on the south section of Ala Moana Beach Park is Magic Island lagoon. It is a man-made peninsula that is ideal for family picnics and laying on the beach. You can enjoy great views of Waikiki, Diamond Head, and Ala Wai Harbor.

Less than a 10-minute drive allows residents to visit attractions including:

• Honolulu Museum of Art – Housing one of the largest collections of Asian and Pan-Pacific art the museum includes more than 50,000 works of art. Any art fan will be able to spend hours enjoying the fabulous displays.
• Iolani Palace – Built in 1882, Iolani Palace was home to Hawaii’s last monarch. Today it is a registered landmark that has been beautifully restored and displays many historical artifacts.

• Diamond Head Monument – This saucer-shaped crater is a great place to enjoy hiking trails, coastal views, and military history. It encompasses over 475 acres, including the interior and outer slopes of the crater.
• Honolulu Zoo – Take a day to explore 42.5-acreas of animals and botanical gardens. More than 900 different animals call the Honolulu Zoo home including orangutans, birds, reptiles, orangutans, and more. Wildlife is mixed into botanical garden settings.
• Waikiki Aquarium – The second oldest aquarium in the United States has thrilled guests for more than 116 years. Visitors enjoy marine exhibits, presentations, and educational opportunities throughout the aquarium. Located next to a coral reef visitors can learn home animals are cared for and view tropical fish, seals, reef shark, and more.
• Bishop Museum – Learn about Hawaii and the Pacific’s culture and heritage. With more than 25 million historical, cultural, and natural treasures the museum provides an extensive overview of the islands.
