These newly built homes on Oahu are positioned on an elevated section on the eastern side of the development, close to Fort Weaver Rd. About Hoopili

D.R. Horton’s latest master-planned community, Ho’opili, is located on the Leeward (West) side of Oahu. The company intends to construct around 12,000 new homes in a variety of formats, including condominiums, townhomes, single-family homes, and flex homes (units that can be used for both residential and business purposes). Situated on the border of Ewa Beach and Kapolei, Ho’opili will serve as the link between these two prosperous communities.
Ho’opili, located near the White Plains surfing beach and just north of the Ka Makana Ali’i Shopping Mall, offers residents convenient access to a variety of shopping, dining, entertainment, and beach activities. In addition, Ho’opili has plans to expand the community by introducing five new schools, parks, pools, community garden, and community centers. This ensures that residents can enjoy a convenient lifestyle in Oahu’s second city, with all their needs met within a short distance. The proximity to three new rail stations provides residents with alternative transportation options for commuting to Metro-Honolulu.
Hoopili, a massive development by D.R. Horton, originated more than two decades ago in Hawaii. It will consist of 11,750 residences, 200 acres dedicated to urban agriculture such as commercial farms and gardens, 2 million square feet of shopping and dining spaces, 3 stops along the rail system, community parks, county parks, walking and biking trails, and many additional amenities.
Community plans emphasize the importance of convenience and flexibility.
When searching for a home in a close-knit community, the sheer number of 11,750 homes may seem overwhelming. To address this, Hoopili has divided the development into multiple sub-communities based on housing types. The housing options vary greatly, starting from studio apartments priced as low as $392,835 to 4-bedroom single-family homes. Hoopili aims to cater to the needs of all individuals and families by offering a diverse range of home types. These include single-family homes with accessory dwelling units (ADUs), townhomes, flats, duplex homes, lofts, FLEX units, condominium homes, multi-generational homes, and even plantation-style homes.
The various sub-communities within Hoopili have a wide range of floor plans and designs. The smallest size for a single-family lot is 3,500 square feet, but the majority of homes are approximately 4,000 square feet in size.

Where is Hoopili Located?

Describing Hoopili as positioned between Kapolei and Ewa Beach doesn’t fully capture its magnitude. The area is so immense that it almost resembles a city on its own. Personally, I associate it more closely with Kapolei due to the route I take to reach there. When I’m traveling from town, I utilize H1 and take exit 3, then proceed along Kualakai Parkway before turning left into Hoopili. The fact that Kualakai Parkway leads to Ka Makana Aliʻi, a large outdoor shopping center, leads me to believe it is connected to Kapolei.
In regards to how far it is to travel, it is approximately a 30-minute drive from the town, 10 minutes from the nearest beach, which is White Plains Beach, and 20 minutes from the Honolulu airport.
